Heritage buildings open doors this weekend

Landmark buildings throughout Hamilton’s will be opening their doors for all to enjoy this weekend.

On May 7 and 8, the ninth annual instalment of Doors Open Hamilton will allow guests to enjoy the rich heritage in our region for free at various sites throughout the city. Locally, Rock Chapel United Church, Kirkwall Prebyterian Church, Strabane United Church and Westfield Heritage Village are participating.

Additional sites participating throughout the region include the Eco House in Hamilton, Hamilton’s Farmers’ market, Theatre Aquarius and the Ancaster Old Township  Hall. Many locations organize displays and demonstrations for visitors.

The regular hours are 10 a.m to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; some sites will offer extended hours.
