The costumes are almost ready and the sets are nearly built, but the butterflies are in full force for the Waterdown District High School students staging their annual drama production.

Random Acts is a series of five short plays, which will guide audiences through a range of emotions and scenarios, from an inside look at the challenges of bulimia, to a comical look at a day gone horribly wrong. Each one is student chosen, and student directed.

Student director Rose Usenica chose her selection, for its comic appeal.

"I love comedy," she said. Her play takes an ordinary actor through an extraordinary day of confusing plot twists and perplexing situations.

"I can see a lot of my high school career in this play," she joked.

The students have been working since September to have the productions ready for the public. Auditions were held shortly after school returned for the summer. Rehearsals have been ongoing since October and will only break for exams she said.

The students will open their work to the public with performances on February 24-25 and March 3-4.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the high school at 905-689-6692 or at the door on performance night.
