Santa sends his thanks to all who helped

News Nov 22, 2006 Flamborough Review

The snowfall at this past year's parade created a winter wonderland along with some challenges for the committee. Thanks to those who dropped everything to plow out the parking lots, as safety was an issue. As they say, "The show must go on," and what a spectacle it was. Well thought-out and well-lit entries against a blanket of snow could only be described as 'magical.' Thanks John, it was a nice touch.

This year's Flamborough Santa Claus Parade was dedicated to "The Year of the Veteran." A cheque in the amount of $500 has been presented to the Royal Canadian Legion, Waterdown Branch, by a representative of the committee. Entry fees from non-profit groups are donated back to a local charitable organization; this year it was only fitting to choose the veterans.

"I'll bet you are glad the parade is over," is an often heard remark. It's never over...awards must be presented, plaques handed out to the sponsors and there are always a few loose ends. Before this is all wrapped up, a meeting regarding the 2006 parade will take place.

If you are one of those who like to plan things well in advance, the 2006 Flamborough Santa Claus Parade will be held Saturday, November 25 at 6:30 p.m. Parade route and road closures will remain the same.
