Peel Regional Police are looking for a GTA drug trafficker after more than 15 kilograms of cocaine and marijuana were discovered at Pearson International Airport Saturday.

The seizures came as Canada Border Services Agency officers were monitoring the offload of luggage from an flight originating from Jamaica and noticed a suspicious-looking brown suitcase. After opening the suitcase, officers found two backpacks filled with brick-shaped bundles. All the bundles were subsequently tested and found to contain cocaine and marijuana.

The CBSA in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) has made 144 cocaine seizures totalling more than 700 kg this year and 68 seizures of marijuana totalling more than 66 kg.

“This is what our officers do every day: stopping the flow of illegal narcotics into Canada while facilitating the flow of legitimate travel and trade,” said Goran Vragovic, CBSA Regional Director General, Greater Toronto Area Region. “Protecting the safety and security of Canadian communities is paramount to the CBSA.”
