Jo Brant Hospital hosting another mock rooms open house

News Apr 08, 2016 Burlington Post

Another open house is being held for people who want to get a glimpse of what many of the new rooms will look like at a renovated Joseph Brant Hospital.

The spring open house is Wednesday, April 20, from 5–7 p.m., in a warehouse at the back of 835 Harrington Ct.

Attendees will get a look at five prototype rooms displaying state-of-the-art technology and design elements. There is an example of a patient room, an Emergency Department exam room, a trauma resuscitation room, an Intensive Care Unit room and an operating room.

Hospital reps will be on hand to answer questions.

The rooms will be part of a new seven-storey patient tower currently under construction. It is a prime component of Jo Brant’s $500-million-plus, multi-phase redevelopment.

The tower will include a new emergency department, nine new operating rooms, an expanded cancer clinic and ICU, a renovated special care nursery and expanded medical, surgical, diagnostic and outpatient services.

The patient tower is scheduled to open in late 2017.
