An 18-year-old Hamilton man faces charges after a home invasion and double stabbing on the Mountain last week.

Simeon Ishmael Bolton is one of four suspects wanted in connection to the crime at a house on Hazelton Avenue. Hamilton police have issued a warrant for three other suspects from Hamilton – 19-year-old John Emanuel Bartley, 20-year-old Taylor Brian Pasco and a 17-year-old male youth – who remain at large.

Police were called to a home on Hazelton Avenue on April 7 just before 3 a.m. They were told several masked suspects had just fled from the house after stabbing two men inside.

The two victims, an 18 and 20-year-old, were taken to hospital. The 18-year-old, who had life-threatening injuries, is in stable condition. The 20-year-old was treated and released.

The police dog unit searched the area, but did not locate the suspects. During the search, pieces of evidence were found and seized. Officers canvassed the neighbourhood looking to speak with residents and any witnesses.

Police spokesperson Const. Stephen Welton wouldn’t say what evidence was found and seized.

It is believed the home invasion was a targeted incident, he said.

Police opposed Bolton’s bail.

He has been charged with aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, disguise with intent, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and robbery.

Anyone with information about the other suspects’ whereabouts or the crime is asked to call Det. Mike Hall at 905-546-4947 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
