CAMBRIDGE – Two men face a long list of drug-related charges following a road rage incident on a local stretch of Highway 401 Monday (April 11) evening.

A driver called police to report that a vehicle had been following aggressively behind on the highway at about 11:50 p.m. and said one of the car’s occupants appeared to be waving a handgun.

The OPP’s highway safety division was able to track down the suspect vehicle and conducted a “high-risk take down” to force the car to stop.

A search of the vehicle turned up a large quantity of cocaine and cash.

A 23-year-old Toronto man was charged with possession of drugs, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.

A 37-year-old Brampton man was also arrested and charged with similar offences, as well as failing to comply with a court recognizance order.

Both men were held for a bail hearing.
