Toronto police say two men died as a result of crossbow bolt and arrow stab wounds to the neck, and a woman died of strangulation, in a shocking incident on a quiet Scarborough street last Thursday, Aug. 25, that took the lives of a woman and her two adult sons.
The incident happened shortly before 1 p.m., near Lawndale Road and Knowlton Drive.
Det.-Sgt. Mike Carbone, of the Toronto police homicide squad, told reporters at a press conference at police headquarters on the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 29, that the female victim and one of the male victims were found in a garage on the property while another male victim was found on the driveway. Police have not released the names of the victims.
At Monday's press conference Carbone said autopsies revealed the woman died of strangulation; the man in the garage died of a crossbow bolt stab wound to the neck; and the man found on the driveway died of an arrow stab wound to the neck.
Brett Ryan, 35, of Toronto, was arrested and is facing three first-degree murder charges. He appeared in court on Friday, Aug.26.
