POLICE BEAT: Suspects steal material from Waterdown construction site

Sometime overnight on Feb. 26, someone took a 2007 GMC Envoy from a driveway on Parkside Drive. The vehicle was located by Brant OPP on Feb. 28 at 9:18 p.m. with some fire damage. There are no suspects at this time.

Sometime between Feb. 23 and Feb. 28, suspects removed a Cadorette boat and EZ Loader trailer from a storage area at a property on Centre Road. Several boats were stored in the shed, but it was the only on taken. There are no suspects at this time.

On Feb. 28 at 10 p.m., security guards at a construction project on Hwy. 5 observed two males leaving with rolls of foam from the work site. The suspects fled in a 2011 Black GMC pickup truck. The security guards were able to obtain a licence plate for the vehicle. Police will be following up with the registered owner.

On Feb. 28 at 6 p.m., a McCartney Street resident was awoken by his eight-year-old son yelling, and saw his vehicle rolling down his driveway. The vehicle continued rolling up a neighbour’s driveway, striking two parked vehicles. Thankfully all vehicles were vacant at the time of the collision and there were no injuries and only minor damage.
