POLICE BEAT: Thieves enter Waterdown home through unlocked door, steal car keys

On June 14 at 9:30 a.m., the driver of a tractor pulling a trailer was eastbound on Valley Road. He was travelling slowly down the escarpment when oncoming traffic swerved into the tractor's lane. The tractor moved to the right to avoid a collision and struck a guard rail post. There were no injuries and minimal damage.

During the early hours of June 16, suspects cut the lock on the front gate at a business on Collinson Road and gained entry to the property. Tools and other items were taken from the compound. Police will be reviewing surveillance video.

On June 17 at 1:10 a.m.,. police were called regarding two suspicious males that were observed in the Laurendale Avenue area who may have been trying to enter vehicles. Police quickly responded and located two males matching the descriptions given. There were no reports made to police about vehicles that were damaged or entered. The area beat officers have been advised.

On June 17, police were called to a break in at a residence on Mountsberg Road. A side door was entered and an interior office door was forced. Rooms were rummaged through and various items were taken. The scenes of crimes officer attended and collected DNA evidence and took photos. The investigation has been forwarded to the Division 3 detectives.

In the early hours of June 18, suspects entered a Parkside Drive home through unlocked rear sliding door and took a set of car keys. The vehicle was then taken from the driveway. The owner had left a wallet and photography equipment in the car. The wallet was located the next day discarded on Fielding Street with everything still in it. The scenes of crimes officer collected evidence from the home.
