POLICE BEAT: Break in at Brock Road business in Flamborough

Overnight on Oct. 3 a 2007 GMC pickup was stolen from the lot of a business on Highway 5.  The owner’s cellphone and various tools were in the vehicle at the time of the theft.  

On Oct. 4 between 5:10  and 6:10 a.m., a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck was taken from a driveway on Elgin Street in Waterdown. There are no suspects at this time.

Overnight on Oct. 4, suspect smashed the windows of two pickup trucks parked on McMonies Drive. A bag containing various hand tools taken from one of the vehicles, while a wallet, sunglasses and loose change taken from the second truck.  

On Oct. 5 between 10:30 p.m. and midnight, a suspect broke a window at a business on Brock Road and got inside. They rummaged through an office and took various items. The suspect also attempted to enter another building where they caused some  damage but did not get inside. The scenes of crimes officer attended and collected evidence. Police will be reviewing surveillance video.  

On Oct. 8 between noon and 3:30 p.m., a 2017 green Dodge parked on a lot on Old Highway 8 was stolen.

On Oct. 9 at 12:45 a.m., an unlocked vehicle was entered and the garage door opener inside was used to gain entry to the garage. A neighbour awoke to the sound of his barking dog. The animal scared off the would-be thieves and they fled the area in a vehicle, leaving behind a dirt bike. The suspect’s vehicle was described as an early 2000s model beige Chevrolet pickup truck, which was gone by the time police arrived. The investigation was forwarded to the detective branch for review.
