Re: Plan aims to limit parking, Review, Nov. 29

I am dismayed by the proposal to shut down Webster’s Falls and Spencer Gorge to hikers.

This area should be considered a shared resource of at least regional significance. If anything, access should become easier, not more restricted.

We had guests from Germany some years ago and I was asked to take them to see some “real Canada.”

After Niagara Falls, there was no place better  than the Spencer Gorge and Webster’s Falls area.

One of our guests collected autumn leaves, pressed them in a book and later displayed them at her shop in Germany.

City of Waterfalls

We take visitors to Webster’s Falls/Spencer Gorge whenever we can and enjoy that resource ourselves.

Personal testimonies will help move Hamilton toward the City of Waterfalls.

The Bayfront, Bruce Trail, our conservation  areas and pristine natural areas like the Spencer Gorge must be kept and be available to all.

We just can’t have community representatives leading us toward eliminating and excluding our best treasures.
