Hamilton Bulldogs take Connor Roberts with third pick overall in OHL draft

The Hamilton Bulldogs have selected forward Connor Roberts with the third overall pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection on Saturday.

Roberts scored 19 goals and 20 assists in 28 games this season with the Grey-Bruce Highlanders. The 6-foot-2, 204 pound forward also represented Canada at the World Youth Olympics winning a Silver Medal. Roberts finished the tournament with three goals and one assist in four games.

In a news release, Bulldogs president and general manager Steve Staios said, “We have been watching Connor closely all season and are thrilled to call his name as the third overall pick.” Staios adds, “Connor Roberts has all the attributes and character that we hold in high regard at the Hamilton Bulldogs and he will be a big part of our organization moving forward.”
